The Sanchez Rosado family's project began in 1998, the year in which we acquired ¨La Chamusca¨, land located in the Malaga town of Cártama, specifically in the Viña Viejas area.
Its privileged location, at level 300 between the Guadalhorce River Valley and the southern face of Sierra Llana, the gateway to the gentle breezes from the Mediterranean Sea, which provide the necessary humidity to provide the necessary water supply for the grape. The varieties planted in the lands of Bodegas Sanchez Rosado are:
The soil is poor, limestone, clay loam, which helps the vineyard find remarkably suitable conditions for cultivation. The ancients already cultivated quality grapes in the area (which made Malaga and its province famous). Hence the name "Pago de Viñas Viejas".
Currently, at Bodegas Sanchez Rosado we prepare our viticulture and oenology workshops. The workshops are made up of: visit to the vineyard and visit to the winery.
On the other hand, and following the program of the day, the wines of different vintages will be tasted, emphasizing the steps of the tasting from the oenological point of view. Finally, a country lunch will be offered accompanied by the wines of the winery, this part of the program being optional and for small groups of 10 people.
