Avifauna

Avifauna is an ornithological zoo located in Bravos, less than 20 kilometers from the city of Lugo. Although it has been in operation since 2000 as a nature classroom, in 2012 it became a zoo, specifically one of the largest ornithological parks in Spain, both for the birds it houses and for its special characteristics as an interpretation center, classroom nature and breeding center for birds, some of them in danger of extinction.

Avifauna houses in its facilities, located in an enviable natural environment, more than 600 birds of around 250 different species from the five continents. The birds are located in large naturalized enclosures adapted to each species based on its characteristics, origin, etc.

In this way, visitors enjoy a tour immersed in the ornithological world in which they can see specimens from all over the world and also enjoy the well-kept botanical garden in which it is located. As a complement, information panels on biodiversity, the importance of conservation, the species on display, the different habitats, etc. are displayed at different points in the Zoological Park.
