At Kiriketan we have been listening to the needs of boys and girls since 1997 through our work. Thanks to this, today we have specific teaching methods that are based on recreational activities.
With this way of relating to children and young people, we prepare camps with which we intend to have a great time while we contribute to their socialization. In the same way, we immerse them in Basque in a natural way without it being perceived as forced learning. This idea guides our activities:
- Camps with sports: from July 25 to 30 and from August 6 to 11 for participants who were born between 2012 and 2008, we will be in a coexistence in where we will try water activities, such as canoes and optimst, while staying in wooden cabins.
It is a way for children to live an enriching experience in a healthy environment, interacting with peers of the same age while having fun and learning values that will serve them in their daily lives.
Ask us any questions that may arise in this regard.

At Kiriketan we add to the activities we organize throughout the year to promote Basque among children, camps with activities for which we spend a full week away from home.
We direct this program to boys and girls whose date of birth is between 2009 and 2012. On the day the colony starts we will depart by bus from Amara to Zuhatza where we will stay on a full board basis staying in comfortable wooden cabins. Children will have access to facilities with all the services to spend these days having everything covered from toiletries to meals.
We will have two main blocks of activities:
- Water sports: we will be outdoors taking advantage of several hours a day to be in direct contact with the environment through modalities such as canoeing and windsurfing. We will establish the appropriate level so that participants feel safe.
- Games and evenings: the rest of the time we will dedicate to sharing playful moments while we learn to relate to each other. During them we will continue using Basque as the main means of communication.

At Kiriketan we deal with the organization of urban camps that seek to fulfill a double objective. On the one hand, we contribute to expanding parents' options for caring for their children on vacation, while on the other, we ensure that participants maintain close contact with Basque. We do it through:
- The open colonies Oporretan Euskaraz: for students between 4 and 11 years old, as long as they are registered in Donostia. We work on expression and interpersonal relationships in the regional language in various facilities in the city to where we transport them by bus with the pick-up points that we provide to get to the camp every day.
- The camps between August and September: which we place in the San Sebastian neighborhoods from 9:30 a.m. each day, ending the activities at 1:30 p.m. Participants will be picked up for transportation to the Plaza del Buen Pastor. For the activities, groups are formed between 8 and 12 students, respecting this maximum in order to carry out exhaustive monitoring of each one of them.
