Speleology in the Cayuela Cave in Arredondo

This caving route begins in the best possible way. We will access the Cayuela Cave through a colossal chasm that is completely populated with totally green vegetation. Suffocated by vegetation that will reach our chest, we will descend a slope until we come across the opening that will take us into the cave itself. Once inside, we will be surrounded by a long and enormous tunnel that predicts the disturbing environment that awaits us.

We will go through this tunnel for approximately 15 meters until we reach one of the favorite parts of all adventurers, since we will find a colossal abyss before us where darkness takes hold of every corner. We will dodge it in a truly adrenaline-pumping way, skirting a rocky mass with the help of a handrail at more than 30 meters high and crossing this colossus at close quarters for more than 60 meters.

We finished touring this part and with our hearts still racing we find ourselves with a steep 3-meter drop that we will overcome by climbing with the help of a rope. From here, the route winds through the cave, running into several pools on our way until we reach the Arco well , where it seems that an architect has come to decorate the interior of the cave by the formations arched so perfect there are.

After this area we are already on the part of the West canyon and what awaits us here is a cave with its own life due to the infinity of
stalagmites and stalactites that decorate its entrails, giving the feeling that any moment the cave itself engulfs us alive. Without a doubt, this may be the most emblematic part of the Cayuela Cave and when we have contemplated it carefully, we will turn around and return the way we came to finish our caving route .
