Speleology in the cave of La Vaquera, Segovia

Have you ever wanted to try a different activity like speleology? Sign up now and you will get to explore the famous Cueva de la Vaquera (Vaquera Cave). This site is located between the Losana de Pirón and Torreiglesias villages, in Segovia.

The cave consists of three galleries moulded by water during hundreds of thousands of years. You will see the different layers that have formed throughout the millennia, making this, almost literally, back in time.

We will focus on one route in particular, that which follows the underwater river's course. It finds its' way out of the Earth's depths similarly to a fountain and this is where our trip starts. Along the way, we can find crystal-clear, unpolluted water, limestone rock walls and landscape sculpted by the water.

In addition, there are studies which show the cave was used by our ancestors in prehistoric times as either a cemetery or as a necropolis. along with historical remains from other periods. Not only will you become familiar with our planet's history, but also our ancestors'.
