Description of Guided tour of Itálica from Seville for children
There is no better way for your children to know history than to live it. Now you can take them for a walk through the city that gave birth to Trajan and was also the cradle of Hadrian.
Through this city, your child will be able to learn about the real relevance of these two emperors who were during one of the most important moments of the Roman Empire as well as of religion in the world.
Itálica was the first city that the Romans founded in the Iberian Peninsula, at that time called Hispania.
The route will begin with a guided visit to the amphitheatre which is considered one of the largest in the entire Roman Empire. The theater was built during the time of Hadrian, between 117 and 138. In addition, it is very well preserved and you will be able to learn everything about the theater of that time.
Next step, you will go to the Monasterio de San Isidoro. Built on a Mozarabic-style hermitage and religion, the monastery was founded in 1301 and Saint Isidoro was buried there.
The guided tour ends at the San Rafael winery where you can see the process by which wine is made, and the older ones can enjoy a tasting of Andalusian wine.
