Tajo de Barbate Cliff Hiking 4 hours

For lovers of nature and hiking, we have a medium-low difficulty route that you will love.

We will start our route in Playa de la Yerbabuena, in the town of Barbete, and after 6.2 km of route we will arrive to Playa of Caños de Meca. To get there we will cross the beautiful Brena Natural Park.

We will skirt the impressive vertical cliff of “Tajo de Barbete” which is 100 meters above the sea.
You will have unparalleled views at all times in which the stone pine forest and the sea come together to have a dreamlike panorama. You can also spot different birds such as yellow-legged gulls, jackdaws, rock pigeons, cattle gracillas and black starlings.

It will take approximately 4 and a half hours being a linear route and suitable for everyone. We will go up a gentle slope until we reach La Torre del Tajo, which was built in the 16th century.

Then we will continue to the Caños de Meca beach, where you can see the beauty of the lighthouse and the white sands. You can end your excursion with a refreshing swim on the beach!
