To go trekking in the first National Park of Spain! The Cornión Massif or Western Massif the Picos de Europa is the largest national park in the area and has a wide variety of landscapes with lush pastures, arid limestone zones, and stunning lakes such as the Covadonga ones.
We'll make a 62 km journey with this 5-days activity. Every day we'll enjoy a different route through this mountainous massif, including 4 nights of accommodation with a half-board basis on mountain shelters, with breakfast and dinner included.

We'll make a 62 km journey with this 5-days activity. Every day we'll enjoy a different route through this mountainous massif, including 4 nights of accommodation with a half-board basis on mountain shelters, with breakfast and dinner included.
This is the schedule:
- Day 1: the meeting point is the Buferrera parking, in the Lakes of Covadonga, and from where we'll ascend about 14 km. arriving at the Vegarredonda shelter to spend the night. Along the way, we'll see emblematic places such as Pozo del Alemán and, if the weather is favorable, the Mirador de Ordenales, where Pedro Pidal was buried; one of the first climbers of this mountain.
- Day 2: After breakfast, we'll make a 15 km journey. throughout the most characteristic route of the Massif, from north to south. We can see chamois, one of the typical animals of the area, and we'll arrive at Vega Huerta where we can see extremely high mountains. Then we'll reach Vegavaño shelter.
- Day 3: we'll go to the town of Cain in a progressive descent crossing forests, majadas and towns surrounding the Cornión Massif. We'll visit the Mirador del Tombo in Cordiñanes and the Chorco de Los lobos, ending up at the local hostel.
- Day 4: from Cain we'll go to the Cares defile passing through bridges and tunnels until ascending a slope of more than 1000m. We'll go to Vega de Ario shelter, where we'll spend the night and, if the weather is favorable, we'll be able to go to Jultayu viewpoint.
- Day 5: We'll descend 7km. from the shelter to the Covadonga lakes again, passing through Vega de Belbín. We'll have a beer near the lakes to celebrate the endign of this amazing route.
