Route through the Trails of the hermits 3 days

3 days hiking tour around the spiritual heart of La Rioja. We will go to San Millán de la Cogolla monastery (Wold heritage site), Valvanera monastery (patron saint of La Rioja) and Ezcaray town (the first touristic village).

The tour goes in the Sierra de la Demanda following paths used by hermits and pilgrims who were the precursors of this monasteries. After the 5th-century hermits was an extended phenomenon in La Rioja. The ancient settlers of this lands used to look for hidden and beautiful spots to meditate.

It is a rounded route with long phases, you will be in contact with nature for the whole experience. We will go through mountain landscape and the head of Najerilla and Oja river, reaching in some points the 5577 feet height.

The accommodation will be in the final points of each phase (Valvanera, San Millán and Ezcaray) in double bedrooms with half board (dinner + breakfast).  Most of the route is indicated and the organisation will provide you with the necessary direction materials (GPS and map) and an assistance protocol at any point of the route, working 12 hours a day.  You can also hire a guide or luggage transport.
