Mulhacen winter ascent from Seville 3 days

Enjoy the winter landscape in a different way by making an ascent of 3 days to the peak Mulhacén of Sierra Nevada. From its top, the highest in the Iberian Peninsula with 3,478 meters high, you will reach spectacular views of the landscape surrounding the area. If you turn your gaze to the south, you will have the opportunity to contemplate part of the Mediterranean Sea and the African continent; in the north is the Vega de Granada that you can also observe.

To carry out this activity, it is not necessary to have any previous knowledge about mountaineering, since, in this case, it does not involve much technical difficulty. However, in addition to requiring  specific material for the ascent depending on the weather conditions, a good physical form is needed to overcome the journey without any setback.

The path we will take will have as a starting point the town of Capileira, which is in the middle of Granada's Alpujarra, and which we will have the opportunity to discover. Then, we will take the car to access the Hoya del Portillo where we will park it to walk for 4 hours to the Refugio Poqueira. The next day we will walk along the southern slope of the mountain until we reach the top. Finally, we will return to the Mulhacén Hill to head back to the shelter.

Throughout the tour you will be accompanied by a professional guide to guide you with information about the area and explain some simple techniques on mountain progression. You may decide to change the path of the route to adapt to the environmental conditions or physical condition of the group.

* The material needed to ascend according to the conditions: snowshoes, crampons and ice axes, you can rent it in the shelter.
** The excursion will begin in Seville, from where we will head to Mulhacén.
*** The activity will not take place if a minimum group of 4 people is not formed.
