Rafting from El Barco de Ávila to Puente del Congosto

How about you come and do the most spectacular rafting descent in the heart of the Sierra de Gredos? We are in the province of Ávila, so it is also a great option if you come from Salamanca or Madrid.

You will come to Alto Tormes to practice rafting in the section that begins at El Barco de Ávila and ends at Puente del Congosto. No less than 19 kilometers of travel! The slope is 0.4%.

As it is a fairly long stretch, in which we find a multitude of rapids, the activity is aimed at those people who have experience in rafting and are in good shape, since otherwise it would be too hard.

Don't hesitate to bring a picnic and water, since there are practically 5 hours of activity and you will get hungry. We will put it in the sealed drums so that it stays dry until we stop to eat.

Rafting can be done between October and June, although the best months for it are March, April or May, the thaw season, which provides us with the optimal flow.

We will set up a tent on a private property so that you can change in total comfort. You can also leave your cars in this area.

In addition to the picnic, you should bring your swimsuit, towel, clothes and shoes to change into afterwards, and if you had a lycra t-shirt, you will also appreciate it.

The activity is suitable from 12 years old, as long as you know how to swim.
