Rafting Gredos from El Barco de Ávila to El Barquillo

In the Sierra de Gredos Regional Park, and through the waters of the Tormes river, a great rafting descent awaits you. Perfect whether you live in the province of Ávila or if you come from Madrid or Salamanca!

The section of the Tormes that we have planned for this rafting descent is the one that begins at El Barco de Ávila and ends at El Barquillo. In total there are 11 kilometers of route, with a slope of 0.5%. It is a section that collects the flow of the tributaries that come down through the north of Gredos, so we will find a good water level especially until the beginning of June. The best way to enjoy it to the fullest is to come from March to May, although the activity begins in October.

This part of the Tormes River will offer us parts of very calm waters but also spectacular rapids, so it is a great combination.

We will prepare a tent on a private property so that you can change and put on your wetsuit comfortably. You can also leave your vehicles here without worrying about them.

For this activity, the minimum age is 12 years and it is mandatory to know how to swim.

Don't forget your bathing suit, towel, change of clothes (with other shoes) and, if you have it, a lycra t-shirt.
