With the arrival of the snow season, the ski slopes open and a whole range of seasonal activities that you have to take advantage of. As is the case of our guided route on snowshoes of about 5 hours and 15 minutes around the Madrid station Valcotos ski resort to crown the summit of Peñalara.

Our journey in the heart of the Sierra de Guadarrama National Park begins in Puerto de Cotos. The next stop will be to cross the Glacier Circus and the Laguna Grande. Our steps will guide us towards the Pedriza and Peñalara streams with the aim of reaching the highest peak, Pico Peñalara located at about 2,429 meters high.

Once this objective has been achieved, it is time to return to the point of origin of the route, towards Cotos. And to do this, we will head towards the Cuerda Larga mountain system, from where we can see the Dos Hermanas and Valsaín mountains.

A route of 13.2 kilometers of medium physical and technical difficulty for which you will need to properly equip yourself with mountaineering clothing and footwear, a canteen and water, a backpack to carry your belongings and trekking poles. We provide you with snowshoes.
