There is something about the snow that we all love. When winter and the first snowfalls approach, we start planning trips to spend a day surrounded by the white snow, in a valley or ski resort with spectacular landscapes.

The north of Spain is one of the most visited areas to spend a snow day, and Huesca has valleys, mountains and ski slopes which are worth to practice all the idyllic winter sports and activities than you can ever imagine. One of the most original and popular for all ages is dog sledding.

- If you are looking for an activity to do with friends, in this Aragonese resort there are also tours with Siberian huskies for groups of 11 people or more. The tour takes place in the surroundings for approximately 20 minutes. You can even receive a diploma certifying your “first dog sledding experience”.

- However, if you are spending a few romantic days, in Benasque-Cerler you will have a dream night with your partner. In double sleds, under the full moon, you will stroll through the valleys on an exclusive and very special tour. You will also have a cup of hot chocolate or cava to complete this perfect evening.

- For those who want to experience dog sledding for a day but without getting too cold, in Moncayo Natural Park will find their perfect tour. From November to April there are 1-hour wheeled dog sledding tours in which you will enjoy the fauna and flora of the area, and of course the dogs that will be your companions in this adventure.

In this same Natural Park, you will also be able to make 30-minute tours to introduce yourself to this peculiar sport.

- In Benasque, the center of the Pyrenees mountains of Aragón, there is a type of dog sledding activity that doesn’t even require any snow to enjoy it. In this version of dog sledding, the dogs will pull a wheeled sled so it does not necessarily have to be done in winter, expanding the possibilities of your enjoyment whenever you travel to Huesca. It is a perfect option for kids under 14 years old, for example, if you have come with friends and you want your kids to enjoy like they never before have.

- There are also 1-hour routes for adults and kids, which will have a special price, although they must be accompanied by a responsible adult, who will pay the normal price. Adults can even "drive" the huskies for a little while and, in the end, everyone can enjoy with these beautiful snow animals and see how they need to be cared for.

- If you are looking for a dog sledding experience that enables you to guide these Nordic dogs, in the Tena Valley you can do it in a 2-hour route. The company will take you in an off-road vehicle to the Sierra de Partacua, where your adventure will begin. Before starting, the experts will give you a briefing and some notions to put on the relevant security system. You just have to come with at least 2 more friends for the tour to take place and enjoy the snow in this brand-new fashion on a single sled.

- Another alternative is to opt for a 4-hour tour, also in individual transport, until you reach the refuge in the middle of the mountain where you will enjoy a delicious and typical lunch to recover energies. Here, if you have come with your family, there are also 3-seater sled tours, where children can ride accompanied by an adult. You will be surrounding La Partacua for 1 hour, having an authentic experience for parents and children.

Whatever option you choose, it is always recommended you wear warm clothes, or in the case of wheeled dog sledding, not so warm but comfortable ones for sure.

As in all outdoor activities, the tours will always be subjected to the weather conditions. It is not the same a day of mild snowing than a snowstorm that could potentially interfere in what can be a great day with family or friends.
