Welcome to the Almodóvar Castle, a castle that was built as a fortress in the year 760.
It is located on Mount El Redondo in Almodóvar del Río, in Córdoba, and is also known as the Floresta Castle.
In 1629, Francisco del Corral y Guzmán appropriated this fortress and although no one lives there anymore, it has continued to be passed down from generation to generation until today.
The next to inherit the castle was the Count of Torralva, Rafael, the great-great-grandfather of the current owner. When the Count received the fortress in 1902, it was a building in very poor condition, abandoned and forgotten, which is why he had to work hard for 35 years to convert it into his own residence.
Since 1936, Fernando, the owner's grandfather, and later his parents, continued to take care of the castle until 2001, when they made the decision to open its doors to the public, so that everyone could enjoy and Learn about the history of this beautiful fortress so loved by everyone.
Currently, you can cross its stone walls and walk through its corridors, its spacious halls and go out to the balconies and its exteriors. To make all this possible we have a great team of professionals who work daily to keep the castle in good condition and welcome you.
We want to convey to you all the love we feel for this place that has passed through so many generations throughout history.
We are waiting for you!
