Description of Vejer FreeTours

Are you up to visit one of the most beautiful and charming White Towns in our Spanish geography? At Vejer Free Tours we organize guided excursions of variable duration so that you can get to know the beauty of Vejer de la Frontera as a whole. strong>, a town located in the Janda region, where thewind is one of its protagonists.

Routes that we do daily for groups of tourists, students, for families..., both in the morning and afternoon. Check our availability.

Our tour will tour the old town of this white town located on a mountain 200 meters high. You will come across high streets full of whitewashed houses and old mills that contrast with the color of the wall that besieges this Cadiz town.

This wall has four old access doors, highlighting the Closed Door that opens our steps towards the Jewish quarter of Vejer. Here there is evidence of its Muslim past and the Moorish legends that have been passed down from generation to generation among the old people.

The buildings also have great relevance in this town, so we will visit:

  • The Casa del Mayorazgo, a manor house that dates back to the 18th century and which has now been converted into a beautiful neighborhood patio full of flowers.
  • The Vejer Castle, built in the times of Abderramán I – 9th – 10th centuries), will take us up to the highest point of the city, from where the panoramic views are worth photographing.
  • Set of Vegerian mills, concentrated in the National Park, with which the agricultural tradition of the region is recovered, taking advantage of the benefits that the wind brings here. We highlight the San José Mill, built in 1853, which today has been transformed into the Ethnographic Museum of the municipality.
  • The traditional Food Market, where the gastronomy of Vejer comes together.
  • The Church of the Divine Shepherd, known for the mix of styles visible in its architecture and decoration.
  • Special mention deserves the Plaza de España, the nerve center of the old town of the town of the Levante wind.
