Activities Barbancho is a company based in el Casar Cáceres that offers different activities whose common factor is nature . Our goal is to help you get to know Cáceres and its surroundings in a participatory way, in which you interact with nature and can enjoy it while you learn to value and respect the environment.

Some of the activities we organize are:

• Horseback riding routes: we adapt to all levels so that anyone can enjoy our landscapes at the speed of trotting or galloping.

• Hiking: our guides will take you to places that only a privileged few know about and, in addition, they will transmit their knowledge of the area to you in a fun and enjoyable way.

• Ornithology: Extremadura has a varied flora and fauna but, above all, the birds that visit us each year stand out. Discover them!

• Fishing: we propose one of the most popular activities among Extremadurans, fishing on the shore. As soon as you try it you will know why it has so many followers.

• BTT routes: do tourism in an original and very healthy way. By pedaling you will discover the treasures of our region.

Activities Barbancho is a company based in El Casar, in Cáceres, that offers horseback riding routes designed to measure so that you can enjoy walking through beautiful landscapes. and emblematic streets.

We will take you along little-traveled trails to trot and gallop without worries. We will discover sanctuaries and hermitages that we will reach by green routes or royal glens. The atmosphere couldn't be more natural.

If it is your first time riding a horse, don't worry, we adapt to all levels. In addition, we will provide you with a horse according to your training and physical characteristics with which you will feel comfortable and safe.

For the little ones we have smaller horses, they are sure to get along well!

We carry out 3 types of routes:

a) Walk through the Nuevo swamp: the itinerary runs along an old livestock track and along the path that leads to the swamp. It is a very beautiful path where you can observe several specimens of birds.

b)Road to the Sanctuaries of Altagracia and Virgen del Prado: a route along rural roads to contemplate the landscapes of Extremadura.

c) Pilgrimage: we can organize an excursion to attend one of the pilgrimages in nearby towns.

In Activities Barbancho we want to bring you closer to one of the most popular fishing methods in Extremadura, shore fishing. With our help, you will be able to practice this sport in swamps, ponds and reservoirs near Cáceres.

Some specimens that you can fish in these waters are: carp, black bass, pike perch, barbel and catfish.

Weprovide you with all the material you need to carry out the activity in exchange for a deposit. You have to come equipped with comfortable and sports clothing, something warm and waterproof boots to avoid getting your feet wet.

The guide service is optional but we recommend it because we really have experts with extensive experience in fishing in the area. Furthermore, if you are a beginner or an amateur, our guide will be happy to teach you new techniques that can be very useful to you.

The price includes transport to the fishing area and the license for fishermen, so you will only have to worry about observing the river and, above all, enjoying a relaxed day in good company.< /p>

At Activities Barbancho we know that, if Extremadura is characterized by something, it is by the beauty of its landscapes and the environmental value of its surroundings. That's why we have proposed that you get to know some of the most beautiful corners of the community in an ecological and fun way of transportation: by bicycle.

We have hundreds of km of roads with restricted traffic, livestock trails, green roads, royal canyons,...how are we going to waste this situation? Take your bike and we will take you to places of great interest, either for their nature or for their cultural value.

Some of the routes we have scheduled are:

• Pantano Nuevo: 15 km circular route in which you can see many of the birds that have made the swamp their natural habitat.

• Malpartida: Relaxed route along dirt roads in the Barruecos area. We will stop at the Barruecos and Vostell interpretation center. The route is 8 km but we have almost 3 hours to do it. Ideal to go with children.

• Casar-Malpartida: 36 km excursion aimed at amateurs in good physical shape. It will take us about 4 hours to complete the route.

• Cáceres Old Town Route: get to know the historic center of Cáceres while you pedal. A different way of tourism. In one hour we will travel 6 km of the World Heritage city.

• Casar de Cáceres-Cáceres Route: The round trip along the Rondel del Casar. In total there are 19 km that we will try to complete in 3 hours.

• Routes to Sanctuary (Virgen del Prado or Virgende Altagracia): In 22 km we will visit the most beautiful sanctuaries in the surroundings. The duration is approximately 3 hours.

• Route tailored to you: you choose the itinerary, its difficulty and duration. We adapt.

You can also hire other services such as picnics, stops for bird watching, visits to historical monuments,... Cáceres offers us many leisure possibilities, explore them!

At Activities Barbancho we have a bike rental service so you can enjoy the city and its surroundings at your own pace. We have 3 types of bikes:

• Basic, perfect for getting around our town and the surrounding cities.

• Electrically assisted bicycles, for the laziest. You won't have to make much effort.

• Mountain bikes, to travel dirt roads and get to know the wildest nature of the area.

Rates vary depending on the bike you choose and how long you want to use it. We have models for the whole family, including the little ones.

Our region is one of those with the most kilometers of restricted traffic in all of Spain. This means that riding a bike in our surroundings is, in addition to being a very enjoyable and fun activity, a very comfortable way to travel medium distances.

You can drive along green roads, livestock trails, the Via de la Plata,... but also enter the historic center of Cáceres and let yourself be enchanted by the city declared a World Heritage Site.

Barbancho Activities is a company dedicated to sports and nature activities in which our main objective is for you to get to know our natural environment in a playful way and, in addition, learn to respect it.

We are located inCasar de Cáceres, just 9 km from Cáceres capital, so our location could not be better.

We offer different activities but one of the most successful among our clients is the organization of 4x4 routes. We have all-terrain vehicles in which several people can travel listening to the comments of our guide.

As soon as you arrive at our headquarters we will introduce you to the monitor who will accompany you throughout the journey. He will provide you with a guide to the birdlife in the area so that you don't miss any details of the natural environment.Afterwards we will get into the vehicle and enjoy an interesting excursion in which we can stop to take photos, eat something or simply rest.

The routes have two possible durations, 4 or 8 hours, which depend on the itineraries and destinations we are going to. The short excursions have as their destination:

• Llanos de Cáceres, designed for lovers of ornithology.
• Malpartida - Arroyo de la Luz, combines nature and visits to ecclesiastical monuments.
• Casar de Cáceres, includes a visit to the sanctuaries of Alta Gracia and Virgen del Prado.
• Torca del Casar Route.

On the other hand, in the 8-hour excursions we will go to:

• Caparrá, a city that stands out for its Roman archaeological remains.
• Granadilla, known as the town resurfaced from the water.
• Jerte Valley, highly recommended visit in spring, when the cherry trees bloom.

• Ham Route. On this excursion of about 2 hours you will discover the best kept secrets of the best Iberian hams in the country. We will visit the Extremaduran pastureland where the most sought-after pigs live and then travel to the town of Arroyo de la Luz. There we will visit a drying room and carry out a Iberian and wine tasting that will give you the best explosion of flavors.

• Cheese route. For this activity we will be the ones who pick you up in the capital of Cáceres to go to Casar de Cáceres. We will visit a factory specialized in Torta del Casar and then go to the tasting room and begin tasting up to 10 different varieties of cheeses accompanied by wine.
