Alarkumoffers you the possibility of getting to know one of the most impressive environments in Manchuela, in Cuenca.
To do this, we organize different hiking routes through the Hoces de Alarcón where a path has been enabled on the banks of theriver Júcar. Taking this into account, we have prepared the itineraries that we want you to follow so that you can discover the most impressive corners of the eastern bank.
You will discover the path that once took the residents of the area to the fulling mills, waterwheels and mills, which are located next to the river. So, what will you visit? The Ribera Forest, the Mediterranean Mountain, the Júcar River Canyon, the Tebar Bridge, the mills and fulling mills and cobbled threshing floors.
You will enjoy a beautiful natural setting, in addition to its flora and fauna. On the one hand you will find a multitude of species such as reeds, blackthorns, poplars... and a great variety of animals, especially birds, such as owls, eagles...

With Alarkum you will discover with our guided tours one of the most important Historical Sites of Alarcón.
What are they?
- The Mural Painting of Jesús Mateo (1994-2003), a painting of about 1500 square meters of Contemporary Art. The world of nature and mythology of Jesús Mateo has achieved recognition by UNESCO, sponsoring and protecting it in 1997.
- In the parish of Santa María (16th century) we will show you one of the most important works of sculpture from the Renaissance in Castilla la Mancha: The Altarpiece strong> dated 1572, it is an extraordinary work that you will have the opportunity to see up close.
- Walking through the cobblestone streets of Alarcón will take you to the church of Santa Trinidad, one of the oldest in the town. It is one of the few examples of early Gothic in the province of Cuenca. Its Plateresque façade and original floor plan make it one of the most unique buildings in the province.
- When you arrive at the interior patio of the Castle (currently Parador de Turismo) you will discover its original layout. From the coastal walk you will enjoy the wonderful views of the Júcar River hugging the Alarcón peninsula. From that point we make a complete explanation of the Alarcón fortress.
