At Camping Mascún we work all the ravines that form the Guara Park. Our position in the Rodellar valley allows us to access canyons with different characteristics, both in terms of their water level and their complexity.
Choose between:
- Mascún Superior: the best known and most aggressive is a rappel that reaches 18 meters in altitude.
- Oscuros del Balcez: a section that takes 4 hours of constant unexpected obstacles and a rappel that we will execute to overcome a difference of 7 meters.
- Gorgas Negras: a challenge for which you must be physically prepared because it will take a minimum of 10 hours to complete. The water is constant throughout the itinerary and we will rappel up to 20 meters.
- Peonera Superior: it hardly presents any difficulties and will require us to dedicate between 6 and 6 hours if we start in the direction of Corral Alto. In this case rappelling is optional.
- Inferior Peonera: it is essential to swim with ease since the river will not abandon us at any time. We will access through Tozal Redondo to stay in the canyon for around 4 hours.

Camping Mascún, in addition to accommodation, completes your stay with climbing days taking advantage of the upper part of the Mascún ravine and the Rodellar valley.
We offer you the option of directing yourself in climbing, for people accustomed to this sport, or learning from the beginning. In any case you will find the right environment in the Guara Park, a common meeting point for professionals in this discipline, with routes of various grades.
For climbing:
- We will evaluate your starting point: even if you do not have knowledge, we do not assume that we know what you need because we believe in an individualized teaching system. We will check your strengths and those aspects to which we should dedicate more time.
- We will choose the path that best suits you. You will always depend directly on the capacity of your arms and the support that your legs provide you, but the exercise will vary greatly depending on the degree of the stretch we face.

At Camping Mascún we will accompany you on your first contact with the via ferrata in the Peña la Virgen.
We will head to a section of the mountain that has been prepared to allow us an easy and safe ascent. We will ascend the rock using previously installed elements:
- The itinerary begins with a staple ladder secured to the wall that will help us reach a notable height in a short time. Both in this phase and in the following ones, we will proceed to hook the harness that we will be wearing to the lifeline parallel to the entire itinerary. In the event of a fall, we will be suspended from the rope without being in danger.
- This via ferrata, over the Mascún ravine, continues through walkways and cables until it leaves us on the platform at the top of the rock. A short distance away we will be surprised by the hermitage of the Virgen del Castillo.
Before leaving, we will make sure that the helmet that we will distribute among the participants is properly fitted, and that we are clear about how the harness and safety devices are used.
