Cuatro Villas de Amaya offers you the best ways to spend the day in contact with nature:

• Hiking routes: with which you will learn about the history of the area from its Roman past to its medieval buildings, passing through various Interpretation Centers so that you have all the information about the environment.
• BTT routes: with which you can travel each region in a more agile way on routes and marked paths.

Both routes are marked on the ground in the Cuatro Villas de Amaya (Burgos).

With us you will be able to discover the necessary information to carry out the 16 hiking routes and the 16 mountain bike routes, and you will have maps and technical sheets at your disposal, among other things that have been designed in the Cuatro Villas area of Amaya de Burgos.

This area includes places such as Sasamón, the town of Melgar de Fernamental, the town of Amaya, Villadiego or Castrojeriz where there is an important architectural legacy from the stages through which the province of Burgos has passed.

At Cuatro Villas de Amaya Hiking we are dedicated to showing our region in depth through this very healthy sport with which we come into contact with nature and enjoy a different day.

We present 16 hiking routes of different levels of difficulty, characterized by their landscapes.

The routes that we offer you are distributed by the localities of:

• Villadiego : where there are still narrow streets that respond to the planning made in the Middle Ages. You will see elements such as the Prison Arch, part of what was once its wall.
• Sasamón : a town with Celtiberian origin and an important Roman, Visigothic and later Arab past.
• Melgar de Fernamental : between the Cuaces del Pisuerta and the Valdivia river, which transforms its landscapes that pass between natural and artificial channels to irrigate crops.
• Castrojeríz : from where you can go to see the remains of the old Convent of San Antón.
• Amaya : where the value of its geology represented in the Las Loras area stands out.

All of them have their file and tracks to be guided with a GPS.

Cuatro Villas de Amaya BTT takes you to discover 16 MTB routes of different levels of difficulty, with a maximum of 40 km.

Those who wish to discover this fantastic way to enjoy their leisure, will also have the possibility of linking these routes and training longer mountain bike days. Some of them are:

- Los Peones de Amaya : a path that passes through the town of the same name with a distance of close to 8 and a half kilometers, which usually takes just over 1 hour.

- Vega del Odra : it is an itinerary that belongs to the town of Castrojeriz and covers a route of more than 12 kilometers that can be completed in just over 1 hour and a half at a comfortable pace.

- Ruta de los Carros : this time we will pedal a mountain bike through Melgar de Fernamental for 9 kilometers in a time of around 70 minutes.

- Roman footprints of Segisama : a beautiful walk in the surroundings of Sasamón with a total of 11 kilometers and 100 meters planned for the participants to finish in 1 hour and 35 minutes.

- Ribera del Brullés : it is one of the shortest options, with 7.3 km in the vicinity of Villadiego and only 60 minutes on the bike.
