Where to go paragliding in Almería?

- Just over 100 kilometres from the capital, in the town of Huércal-Overa, you can paraglide in a "free flight", over the entire eastern part of the province, enjoying the adrenaline and the views without having to worry about anything else, as the professional will take care of all manoeuvres. Here, you will also be abler to sign up to any of the paragliding courses available to gain some autonomy with the paraglider, and even become a professional if you wish. You can start with a first-experience flight and go up to a higher level. It will depend mainly on the time you have in your hands but, in general, companies always make it as easy as possible for you to enjoy the practise classes in which you will continue discovering wonderful places from the heights like Mojácar.

- El Campillo is fortunate enough to be part of one of the villages that can be found around the Cabo de Gata Natural Park, one of the most important ones in Spain. For this reason (and many others that you will discover during your visit) paragliding over it is an experience that if you have the opportunity, you should not miss. They offer two types of flight. First, there is a tandem one with an instructor who will accompany you and explain all the places you will be passing through. It is perfect for those who want to have their first experience with a paraglider and want to try the sensation. The other option is only suitable for experienced people who have their own flying equipment and want to fly on their own with our recommendations. They also provide you with accommodation really close to the take-off area, so you won't have to worry about having to travel to the flight’s meeting point. What else could you ask for?

- If you are going to be anywhere near the city of Almeria, here you can choose from different flights, all of them incredible, as the city has some incredible beaches that from the heights you can better appreciate all the beauty. One of them is Palomeras beach. Here you can book a tandem flight with an instructor, who will also offer you the chance to take a photo and video report. If you already have experience in this sport, on the other hand, you can also enjoy an individual paragliding jump.

In either case, the company will provide you with the material as well as some basic theory notions of the activity you are going to do, with special emphasis on safety, which must be respected in all flights without exception.

- You can also take paragliding courses in the city, adapted to different levels, from beginners to professionals who can fly with complete autonomy, as well as learning about aerodynamics and meteorology. For the practical classes, instructor and student will communicate with microphones that are incorporated in the safety helmet, so that you are always in contact and following the instructions that are given to you.

- In the capital of Almeria you can become a member of a club specialising in this type of giant kite, but you can also enjoy flight baptism experiences in very unique and spectacular places in Almeria. Depending on the level of excitement you are looking for, you can choose between one destination or another. Some of the most popular ones are the Sierra de Alhamilla or Gainos, where you will fly at 150 metres, which is perfect for a first paragliding experience.

Aguadulce, Guanino or Huécija have a much greater difference in altitude than the previous places, varying from 300 metres, 500 or even 750, which is only suitable for those who do not have vertigo and are looking forward to having one of the greatest experiences of their lives.

No matter which choice you make and which best suits what you are looking for, the organisation will always advise you if the day you choose is the best day to fly as it depends on the characteristics and weather conditions. It will simply be a matter of leaving it for another day.

When booking your paragliding flight, you will be asked a few questions such as your age (minors will always have to present a signed legal authorisation), your weight or if you suffer from any condition that could affect your flight performance. Regarding the first question, the minimum age to jump will depend on the company, as it may vary depending on their internal policy. The rest?
