Bodegas Aladro is a recent signature winery, but its creator, Pablo Martinez, knows wine and carbonic maceration in depth. Since he was a child the family always took him to the wineries, to bring carry out basic tasks.
Since vintage 92, he made wines throughout the appellation, sponsoring high quality wines. My own winery opens with the 2004 harvest. It is a clean, healthy and comfortable industrial pavilion, where I am only capable of bottling, removing, racking...
The winery supplies 14 hectares of vineyards of all ages, from 3 to 59 years old, it is the agricultural operation that I have been in charge of since the retirement of my father, a lifelong winegrower.
Finally, Bodegas Aladro entered the market with the 2004 harvest with a young red wine, this being the year that the brand launched. The winery would also be expanded to a red wine with 10 months in barrel. A challenge that we face loaded with experience.
Our winery is a modern facility in which we have 7 steel tanks, four of them open at the top, ideal for carrying out carbonic maceration.
The vineyard area is 14 hectares of Tempranillo grapes. The soil, of clay-calcareous constitution and slightly sloping, is located at an altitude of 450 meters, in the second step of Rioja Alavesa. The viticulture is completely organic, with dryland vineyards. The fertilizer is made with organic matter.
