The San Pedro family, owners of Bodegas Carlos San Pedro, have been making artisanal wines for more than 500 years. There is evidence of this in numerous documents and the existence of our surname is known in ecclesiastical documents in the area since the end of the 15th century.
We have been producing young wine as winemakers since 1960. It was in 1981 when the current name was adopted. At first, young wines were made, which were sold mostly in the Basque Country, but starting in 1997, they began to make wines for aging without abandoning the production of quality young wines.
The guided tour of Bodegas Carlos San Pedro lasts approximately 35 minutes and includes a short explanation of the traditional production method of the area, carbonic maceration, with a short demonstration video.
Subsequently, we visit the underground cave, located about 8 meters below street level, where we will proceed to taste an aged wine. The opening hours to the public to visit our wineries are as follows:
