For more than three centuries the surname Torres has been linked to wine and Penedés, a wine-growing land since Phoenician times.
It was in 1800, when its commercial activity began, with a horse-drawn cart that transported wine in wooden barrels. In 1870 Jaime and Miguel Torres Vendrell formed, together with their father, the company Torres and CIA and the construction of the first winery in Vilafranca del Penedès began.
The restless spirit of the Torres family meant that they not only dedicated themselves to winemaking, from the beginning the distillation of brandies had an important role; Juan Torres Casals was the great promoter of brandy around 1928.
In 1979 the winery in the Central Valley of Chile (Curicó) was opened; A great variety of wines are made there in privileged lands without phylloxera, since the entire country is free of it.
The family, generation after generation, has passed on the secret of making their great wines and the love of their land. This tradition, and its vision of the future, have turned Torres into a large exporting company that currently reaches more than 130 countries.
