Club de Esquí Caja Rural

The Caja Rural Ski Club is a non-profit association that aims to promote sports in the region through the promotion of skiing and snowboarding along with other sports and outdoor activities. All activities take place around Sierra Nevada and the city of Granada. In winter, alpine skiing, snowboarding and artistic skiing clubs become relevant. In these clubs, children and young people from the juvenile, infant and youth categories are prepared so that they can participate in regional and national competitions. They are trained by former members of the club, and there are groups for all levels.

Outside the winter season the club organizes other outdoor activities, among which the following stand out:

- Hiking routes guided by a professional instructor. They are an excellent opportunity to get to know the region better while making new friends and exercising outdoors.

- Canoe Tours: you can participate with your own material or, if you don't have it, rent it from the club. There are also introductory canoeing courses. Likewise, the nautical activities section organizes many other activities such as sailing courses for all levels, classes to prepare for the boat skipper's license exam, etc.

The nautical activities section of the Caja Rural Piragüismo Ski Club arises as a way to maintain the activity of the ski club in the seasons of the year in which there is no snow and therefore there is no possibility of practice skiing or snowboarding. It has been in operation since 2004 and since then they organize all kinds of nautical activities, and especially canoe tours through different reservoirs and rivers in the area such as the Negratín reservoir or the Colomera reservoir. There are also several introductory days and courses to this sport.

The activities can be carried out with your own material or using club material. The club's monitor guides are present at all times, who are in charge of directing the activity. You will also be able to meet other people with the same hobbies and interests as you who want to spend a pleasant day rowing a canoe.

In addition to canoeing, the club offers other activities and skills such as sailing courses or even preparation classes for the boat skipper's license exam.

Caja Rural Ski Club is the alpine ski section of the Caja Rural Ski Club of Granada. It is a non-profit association that seeks to promote and encourage skiing among young people in order to compete at the team level. The training sessions are very technical and complete, always oriented towards competition with the ultimate goal of achieving the greatest success in both regional and national races. A program specially prepared to improve performance in competition is followed that includes all types of activities such as indoor skiing, physical preparation sessions, training with skates and poles to simulate the sensation of skiing on the asphalt, etc.

Caja Rural Snowboard Ski Club is the snowboard section of the Caja Rural Ski Club. It has been in operation since 1999, almost 15 years. The objective is that in the not too near future it will be equal to the alpine ski section.

To do this, they have monitors/collaborators who are often former members of the club. They teach groups of children of all levels between the juvenile and youth categories. The ultimate goal is for these children to end up competing in both regional and national championships. It is ultimately an option so that children who love snowboarding can dedicate themselves to this sport with a little more commitment than simply going snowboarding once a year.

Another of the club's important sections is artistic skiing, based on a much less known aspect of skiing such as jumps and pirouettes. However, the section is very successful among the students, and some of them have ended up being Spanish champions in this modality.

The Caja Rural Hiking Ski Club is a section created to organize hiking routes and excursions in the season when there is no snow and therefore you cannot practice skiing or snowboarding. The routes are always guided by a qualified and highly experienced instructor who knows every corner of the Sierra Nevada and knows how to choose the best paths.

Departures take placeevery Saturday and Sunday. Different routes are chosen and alternated each weekend, but in general they are all very accessible so that practically all members can participate.
