Located near the Leonese town of Ponferrada and in its municipal area, the mountain station of El Morredero comprises a small portion of land of only 4 kilometers and currently consists of two ski slopes with teletape.

The quality of the snow and the low cost of the ski pass stand out. Its last remodeling dates back to 2002. The Association of Friends of Morredero is responsible for its management.

Both the ski resort and Alto del Morredero had a surge in popularity in the summer of 1997 when a stage of the Cycling Tour of Spain ended there. It currently has expansion projects requested by the local administration of the Ponferrada City Council.

El Morredero Ski Resorts is located in the influence of the Leonese town of Ponferrada, offering skiers a total domain of slopes 7 kilometers long, with a total of 8 ski slopes , distributed as follows:

• 2 blue slopes: Blue-East and Blue-West

The expansion plan planned for the resort will provide it with a modern system of lifts and chairlifts that will make it much more accessible for all skiers who come to practice their favorite winter sport, whether snowboarding or skiing.
