We are Cañada de los Pájaros, a bird theme park located in Doñana with more than 200 different species.
This area was named Doñana National Park in 1994 for being an area full of natural beauty inhabited by a wide variety of living beings, from vultures to deer.
Located in the Goflo de Cádiz, between Seville and Huelva, it is a place that has 68,000 hectares of natural park, made up of beaches, forests, marshes, preserves, bushes and dunes among other characteristics of its area.
The Doñana National Park is the largest reserve in all of Europe where birds and other animals in danger of extinction, both African and European, live, such as the marismeño horse, the marismeño cow, the Iberian lynx and the imperial eagle among other native breeds.
As nature and animal lovers, we made the decision to make a dream come true, what is today "Cañada de los Pájaros". After searching different areas we found a space of 15 hectares abandoned full of eucalyptus and debris.
We chose this area because it has high humidity and is an ideal habitat for birds, in addition to being within the route they take during their migrations. When we got there there were already some ducks and bitterns among other species.
In 1991 it was named a Concerted Natural Reserve, the only one in all of Spain! Next we started with a special program dedicated to the reproduction of threatened species which we released after a year of keeping them in captivity.
That same year we started another program dedicated to environmental education, so we opened our doors to the public with the support of the Seville city council.
We are waiting for you!
