Torrevieja excursion to Mar Menor by sailboat 2 days

We want to offer you an exceptional voyage to theMar Menor (Murcia) on board a 12 meter long sailboat. Our destination is located 15 miles from the port of Torrevieja from where we will depart.

TheMar Menor is a natural phenomenon of a coastal lagoon or saltwater lagoon, protected by a sand bar that is the Manga del Mar Menor, which is 22 km long and a width that varies between 100 and 1,200 m. This sea has a surface area of 135 km2, with a maximum length, from N. to S., of 21 km and a maximum width of 11 km from E. to W. Its average depth is 4 m and the maximum is only 6 m. .

Throughout its perimeter there are many beautiful beaches and, in its interior, there are two Major Islands, the Isla Mayor or Barón and the Isla Perdiguera. There are also the Minor Islands, made up of Deer Island, Round Island and Subject Island. The high salinity of its waters has medicinal properties, which is why mud baths are common (thalassotherapy) with great success in skin conditions, rheumatism, arthritis, etc...

On the way to our destination you will be able to delight in the views that the places we will pass through will offer you. We will depart from Torrevieja and pass through Cabo Roig, Torre de la Horadada and San Pedro del Pinatar, until, finally, , we arrive at the Estacio Channel, in front of Isla Grosa, a natural access point to the Mar Menor. Here you can see its Drawbridgeand its Control Tower. On its shores is the Port of Tomás Maestre, the largest in the Mediterranean with more than 1,500 berths. At all times a skipper will be in charge of managing the boat, so you will only have to worry about enjoying the route. From the entrance to Canal del Estacio you can see, in the distance, the Islas Hormigas and Cabo de Palos with its impressive Lighthouse.

You can spend the nights in one of its several ports on its shores or anchored in the shelter of one of the Major Islands, which is very romantic when contemplating in the distance the uninterrupted line of the lights of the coast, the reflection of the moon on the sea and the twinkling stars, while enjoying total and relaxing silence and absolute calm.
