Q: Is it okay to get there by public transport from Madrid?

A: It takes longer than by car but it is possible to get there in a combination of bus and taxi.
You have to take line 191 in Plaza Castilla to Buitrago and then you can come walking on a 1-hour walk (the bridge is 5 km from town) or call the local taxi driver to approach you.
