Speleology in Cueva del Burro, León level 1

Delve into the underground world with our caving route through the Cueva del Burro, in the province of León. It is the perfect opportunity to introduce yourself to the caving activity thanks to the simplicity of this wonderful route.

The Cueva del Burro, or also known as Cueva de las Barreras is located in Vegacervera, just 40 minutes from the capital of León. It is an ideal cave for beginners as it has dry, single-level cavities up to 500 meters long. It will be an experience where you will learn about the underground world and explore spectacular cavities.

Located in the Los Argüellos Biosphere Reserve, this wonderful cave will give you the opportunity to admire karstic formations such as stalactites, stalagmites, coladas and microlakes. You will go through underground rivers with crystal clear waters while you go under the mountain and you will abseil in underground waterfalls of more than 10 meters.

The narrow steps and cat flaps will make you discover rooms and galleries over 60 meters high and will bring out your most adventurous and brave side. Don't worry if you don't have experience, our experienced guides will give you a little technical talk and help you with the basic concepts of the >caving.

To carry out this activity successfully, it is important that you come prepared with mountain shoes that can get wet, comfortable clothes, swimsuit and towel . The rest of the materials such as the helmet and wetsuits will be provided by our specialized monitors. It will be a route of 2 to 4 hours so put on your boots and come and enjoy a unique adventure through the Cueva del Burro.
