Hiking route of the Reconquista Covadonga 5 days

If you want to go trekking in the National Park of Picos de Europa, we offer you this 5-day route that will take you through a path with much history behind it. Because, the thing is, the Route of the Battle of Covadonga GR-202 consists in the route that the Umayyad Muslim troops had to walk after being banned from Covadonga during the conquest of king Pelagius and his forces. 

The route has a total length of 69 kilometres, where you will do, with ascending slopes of up to 4,579 metres, and with 3,580 of descent slope. This means that this will be a quite impressive journey that you will do accompanied by a qualified and professional guide, that you will complete in different stages divided into 5 days. 

The 4 nights of this route will be spent on different mountain refuges, hostals and shelters, where breakfast and dinner will be included as part of your half board basis. 

The meeting point will be the Basilica of Covadonga, in order to visit some of the most iconic and beautiful spots in this region, such as the Covadonga lakes, Poncebos, Sotres, Bulnes, the route of the Cares river, lake Ercina, Picu Urriellu, or the mountain passes of Ávila. 

This experience will be concluded in the town of Cosgaya, in the region of Cantabria. No doubt, we will spend a few days full of excitement, where you will unleash your mountaineering spirit in order to overcome this unique challenge after which you will be left feeling completely renovated.
