Hiking in the Hayedo de Montejo, one day

There are incredible places in the Central Mountain range, but none as spectacular as the Hayedo de Montejo.

We won't do the normal hike, but another one so you can appreciate the incredible beach tree forest from above. 

You can enjoy this hike in all of its glory in autumn because you'll be able to see so many different colors. 

You'll do the whole hike in the company of a professional who will go about pointing out the landscapes that you see. They talk to you about the formation of this natural place and tell you stories about the villages in the area, some of which are abandoned. 

The Hayedo de Montejo is 250 hectares in the middle of the Central Mountain Range. 

We'll meet at 8:00 in the morning in Nuevos Ministerios (or Plaza Castilla if it is more convenient).

The hike starts in El Cardoso de la Sierra and we go along the edge of its left border. We'll see some of the most important beach trees. We'll go to the origin of the Jaram and go up to 1,771 meters, where we'll have some truly special views. Then we'll continue hiking along the right side of the Jarama.

The elevation change is 620 meters, and the distance is 14 kilometers.

When returning, we can stop at Montejo de la Sierra to walk around its streets and visit the interpretation center.
