Horse Riding Sierra de Gredos 1 Hour

An environment as natural as the Sierra de Gredos deserves a tour of it up to its standards. This tour is offered by us and comes in the form of a horseback riding tour. With a local guide specialized in biology and history of the area, you will go out to explore the mountainous paths of the foothills of Extremadura.

Once we have assigned you a horse will start the 1-hour route from our equestrian centre located in  Cabezabellosa. Thus, and following the guide, you will pass by a rocky promontory called the La Cuerda de El Torozo (the natural division between the Jerte and Ambróz Valleys).

The panoramic views that you will have before you will be really amazing; before us the Jerte Valley  will be shown, with the tail of the Plasencia reservoir and the Villa Villavieja cliffs and, from a far distance, the mountains of Serranía de Monfragüe.

To look more closely at the environment, we will enter in la Hésa. It is a millenary forest lined with "melojo" oak, with imposing centuries-old specimens and Celtic vestiges from the Iron Age.

We will also enjoy the views of the Ambroz valley with its surrounding mountains: Gata, Hurdés, Las Batuecas and Peña de Francia. At this point you can spot the Portuguese Serra da Estrela.

We will arrive at the piles of Juntanal, a drinking trough between both valleys and start our journey back, passing through another route, and entering the Hésa forest once again.
