Snowshoeing with full moon Benasque Valley

If you have come this far, we assure you that you will be lucky enough to experience one of the best snowshoe routes that we can find in the entire Benasque Valley. We suggest you take a snowshoe excursion with a full moon for half a day in the Huesca region of Ribagorza. You won't have to worry about anything, we will provide all the technical material and the guide, you will only have to come with winter clothes, bring something to eat and drink, gloves and sun cream.

The first section of our snowshoe journey coincides with the track that surrounds the Sierra del Cubillar, at a dizzying height, between 1900 and 2000 meters. We will travel through a clear area while we are suddenly immersed in a forest. Its paths will soon lead us over the Obago ravine and the river that crosses it and which we will overcome by crossing a bridge. After walking for about 300 meters we will turn off to leave the track layout.

The beginnings of this night snowshoe route are very pleasant, with gentle slopes that will help us gradually gain height while we go in search of the Obago ravine until we find ourselves parallel to him, but without going into it. We will continue our journey until we are at a perfect height to have a good view of the Castanesa Peakand the Tuca de Roques Trencades.

The path will take us along a wide slope that will take us around Cuellos Gordo to avoid a large depression that we will encounter and after overcoming it, a path awaits us with which we will easily reach the Collado de Estiba Freda. Shortly before reaching the top of the slope, we will see the back of the Posets massif and also the Maladeta massif. From here, we will turn and look for the Estiba Freda hill which we will finally reach after snowshoeingunder the immense peak of the same name.

To finish, we will have to make a descent towards the Estiba Freda ravine and the Ballibierna valley, made up of wide slopes with a gentle inclination that will be ideal to reach the last stretch. All this adventure, under the protection of the full moon, embraced by an absolute silence that will give us an overwhelming experience while we only hear the mountain breeze and our footsteps sink the perfect blanket of snow that awaits us in the Benasque valley.Come and enjoy with us this night snowshoe route with a full moon.
