Los Burros de Juanino

Welcome to the Los Burros de Juanino cultural association! Our goal is to publicize this extraordinary animal, and show that its bad reputation is not deserved, since it is one of the noblest animals that you will meet.

They are very intelligent and loving . It is said that they are stubborn, but they are not, but they are usually not willing to do something that goes against their interests.

Formerly these animals were closely linked to professions that today have disappeared, such as street vendors, water carriers, flea markets, etc. That is one of the reasons why they are in danger of extinction today, something we want to avoid at all costs.

A multitude of illustrious people have collaborated with our association and have been named honorary muleteers, for example, Camilo José Cela, Tico Medina, Rafael Alberto or the foundation of Juan Ramón Jiménez.

As for the donkey routes that you can do with us, we mainly have 2 options:

• Buenavista Route: we can see the Almenaras Towers and the Costa de la Luz, where the Atlantic and the Mediterranean meet.
• El Molinero Route: we pass by the old flour mills and continue through the Las Quebradas Natural Park, from where we will get impressive views of the Janda lagoon or other natural parks such as Los Alcornocales or Barbate.

An expert guide will go with you, who will tell you about these friendly animals and take photos of the excursion.

In addition, you should know that the cost of the route, in addition to being very economical , is intended for the association, in order to continue providing the best care for the donkeys and to continue doing outreach activities.

Apart from the donkey routes, we do informative talks and participate in events such as horseback riding, fairs, souks, etc.
