Hípica Salarsa , in the Salarsa Valley, is the first Preferred Zone for Horses (ZPC) in Europe. The objective of the ZPCs is to stop the destruction of the few virgin spaces that remain in Catalonia.
Equestrian Salars to breed and dress free horses for riding. Their 30 horses are raised on more than 100 hectares of land.
The idea of Hípica Salarsa is that horses in freedom are strong, more fribrous and are very relaxed animals and perfectly adapted to the environment where they are found. And for that reason, they want to put at your disposal the possibility of observing how a horse lives in its natural habitat and that you can see how dressage is carried out, and participate in its activities.
In Hípica Salarsa you can carry out activities such as:
- Receive classes for all levels, from beginners to those who already have some contact with the art of riding. Each student is assigned a horse that they will have to take care of from the moment they go after him, brush him, and return him to the meadow again. They offer classes of initiation, improvement, natural dressage and riding bareback with Indian blankets.
- Routes and excursions from 1 to 4 hours touring the places of the Alta Garrotxa region. They organize personalized routes for groups of more than 4 people.
- Carriages with capacity for 5 people that circulate along an already established route to discover the area. You can even learn to drive the carriage.
- PAE therapies, equine-assisted psychotherapy very useful for learning about oneself and others thanks to behavior with horses.
- Pupillage, so that you can integrate your horse into a herd in freedom, which is considered an advantage for all the benefits that this entails.
- Breeding of Hispanic Arabian horses
- Workshops: horse riding for beginners, natural dressage and horses in the wild, PAE for professionals, a journey of awareness through the horses and other personalized workshops that can be adapted to your group. All of them involve a theoretical and a practical part.
To carry out all these activities, Hípica Salarsa has among its facilities a riding school, 12 boxes, a rectangular track, a closed circuit of just over 2 km that borders the area's meadows and several fenced meadows with Water.
