Geres Rails is a company located in the north of Portugal, in one of the wildest areas of the neighboring country. We find its epicenter in one of the national parks that make up Portuguese biodiversity, the Peneda Geres National Park, located in the northeast of the country.

This park is located under the Sierra de Peneda, an emblematic site that preserves the nature of the area and is surrounded by villages that maintain the customs and traditions of the region. Gere Rails unfolds between areas full of viewpoints, waterfalls, rivers, mountains and a long list of native fauna and flora.

We offer you the chance to enjoy this idyllic natural environment in various ways. Either on foot or on horseback, thus connecting you totally with nature, or from one of the different vehicles available.

The different adventures you can benefit from are:

• Horseback riding: For an hour you can ride one of these majestic animals. You will be able to feel in connection with the environment in the most traditional way, admiring the green landscapes from the perspective of a rider, thus enjoying a double sensation of freedom. You will visit emblematic sites such as the Mirador de Piedra or you will enter the interior of the mountain range to appreciate first-hand the magnitude of the beauty of the area.

• 4x4 routes: If you prefer to see the bulls from the sidelines, there are excursions in which you can explore these landscapes in an authentic off-road car for four hours. This possibility allows you to take a longer route, which will give you another point of view of the Sierra de Peneda. On this route, you will find waterfalls, viewpoints and villages that you can also enjoy on foot at some points along the way.

• Buggies: These specialized vehicles have the virtue of being able to enter terrain where other vehicles cannot reach. For this reason, touring this natural park on one of these motorized steel cages will offer you the possibility of visiting inaccessible places. For an hour, you will drive through a circuit surrounded by nature, where as a ride, you will develop your driving skills while visiting one of the most emblematic places in the northwest of the country.

• Quads: Steering one of these four-wheeled motorcycles is one of the most fun ways to enjoy riding, as these small but powerful vehicles take on any type of terrain that comes their way . Gere Rails offers the possibility of traveling an hour-long route in fullwild nature. There is also the possibility of testing these vehicles on a dirt circuit, thus raising adrenaline levels during the journey.

In the northeast of Portugal, where there are a multitude of landscapes that encompasses the Peneda-Geres Natural Park, you have the opportunity to get on one of these animals and enjoy views that you will never forget. For an hour, we will travel the most attractive paths of the Sierra de Peneda, you will visit the Monastery of Pedra Bela and you will lose yourself in endless scenarios full of flora and fauna typical of the area.

This activity is intended to be enjoyed as a couple, as a family or accompanied by your friends. Only children under 5 years old will not be able to climb on the backs of these imposing animals.

A guide will instruct you, if it is your first steps on a horse, and will accompany you during the adventure ensuring your safety and comfort. If you are concerned about the risk involved in dominating this animal, we have insurance so that any unforeseen event is covered.

In the Peneda-Geres Natural Park, we have special routes for these small but wild vehicles that will take you to any corner of the mountains. Their strength and handling make these four-wheel motorcycles a perfect vehicle if you want to ride and have fun at the same time.

A quad will get you out of any situation you face on the road, and its speed and dynamism will allow you to move around the mountains with greater ease. During our routes, you can both walk and enjoy the views and go through small circuits in which you can test your skills with the handlebars.

We have instructors and coverage that will make this experience as safe as it is exciting. This excursion will last one hour and you can get on the vehicle both alone and accompanied. The only thing you will have to bring is a document that proves that you have a driving license and that you want to enjoy the road as much as you want to learn how to drive on these four-wheeled motorcycles.

The Buggies are difficult vehicles to find, since it is almost impossible to find one unless you go looking for it. We offer you the opportunity to take a buggie route, getting on one of these strange vehicles covered by steel bars in a totally special natural environment, the Sierra de Peneda.

We are located on the outskirts of the town of Geres , in the northwest of Portugal, and we have these exclusive vehicles that we want to offer you so that you can take a totally different ride through a setting unique in the whole country.

We have routes that will last until the time of travel, we will take you to both natural and tourist places through mountainous areas, we have all the safety coverage and instruction prior to driving of the vehicle, in short, everything you need so you can tell everyone how impressive it was to ride in a real buggie.

We have two-seater buggies, so you can get on both alone and accompanied. We also have packs and services with which you can stay in the area and enjoy the local cuisine.

Visiting the epicenter of the Peneda-Geres National Park, in the north of Portugal, means doing it aboard a 4x4 vehicle, if you want is to make sure you don't get stuck in the middle of the road.
