At Cuevas del Tío Tobas we organize guided tours through the wine-producing lands of eastern Granada, where quality wines are produced at the foot of the Sierra Nevada.

The Comarca de Guadix has many points where wine is made in the traditional way, such as the Méndez Moya winery, near El Pocico, or the Muñana wineries, in Cortes and Graena. The whites, reds and sparkling wines are lovingly made in these wineries that we will visit, where you will learn the step-by-step production process and taste the wines in a tasting, as well as knowing how to identify the types of grapes.

Located in Alcudia de Guadix, our excursions are varied and depend on the type of grape you want to visit. Here, white vijiriego , Pedro Ximénez, Sauvignon Blanc, palomino or muscatel de Alejandría grapes are very common, while the red varieties of Granada are: tempranillo , the red garnacha , Cabernet, Merlot or Monastrell, among many others.

The location of the Tío Tobas Caves is fantastic for hiking trails . We are in Alcudia de Guadix, at the foot of Sierra Nevada , a natural landscape far from the big city and where we have up to 19 trekking routes at an altitude of 2,000 meters.

Among so many routes, there is no problem with age or physical condition, because this area adapts to your level. Of course, there is one that is indicated for the most daring: the Sulayr experience. It means "the mountain of the Sun", and is about 300 kilometers long that take between 15 and 19 days to complete. This route has taken advantage of livestock trails and old traditional paths on the slopes of the Penibetic mountains.

• First settlers : the visits to Castellón Alto, in Galera, and to the Orce man are an archaeological site and a human fossil from the Bronze Age. With a visit to the museum of Prehistory of the place, the visit is completed with insider information.

• Gorafe Megalithic Park : surrounded by the bad lands, this park has 11 necropolises and 242 Neolithic dolmens. More well-preserved prehistory a few kilometers from the Tío Tobas Caves.

• Cueva de las Ventas : one of the natural refuges, in the town of Píñar, which have served as such from Prehistory until the beginning of the 20th century and which has been declared a Site of Cultural Interest.

• Fonelas paleontological site : dated to the Pleistocene, it preserves fossils of large mammals from 2 million years ago.

• Granada capital : visits to the Alhambra and the Science Park, a few minutes walk from the historic center, are other places, already better known, where we will expand the information.
