The Llafranc Nàutic Club was born in 1963 in the Girona town of Llafranc. At first it was more oriented towards sports such as water skiing or motes of water. However, little by little sailing was gaining in importance to the point that in 1970 it was necessary to build a port.
At present, the main activity of the club has to do with sailing, and more specifically sailing courses and competitions:
- Sailing courses: The club has a sailing school for children between 7 and 14 years old who want to learn to sail. There are groups for the beginner level and groups for more advanced levels. In addition to school, private classes can also be given, in this case for people of any age. All classes and courses are given by qualified and specialized sailing instructors.
- Sailing competitions: The club also organizes throughout the year a series of events and sports competitions of great importance in the area and even at the national level. One of the best known events is the Santa Rosa Regattas, but for example they have also hosted various events of the National Sailing Championship on several occasions.
