The Nàutic Llafranc Club was born in 1963 in the Girona town of Llafranc. At first it was more oriented towards sports such as water skiing or jet skiing. However, little by little the sail was gaining in importance to the point that in 1970 it was necessary to build a port.
Currently, the main activity of the club has to do with sailing, and more specifically the courses and sailing competitions:
- Sailing courses: The club has a sailing school for children between 7 and 14 years old who want to learn to sail. There are groups for the initiation level and groups for more advanced levels. In addition to school, private lessons can also be given, in this case for people of any age. All classes and courses are given by qualified and specialized sail monitors.
- Sailing competitions: The club also organizes throughout the year a series of events and sports competitions of great importance in the area and even at national level. One of the best known events is the Santa Rosa Regattas, but for example they have also been hosts on several occasions of different tests of the National Sailing Championship.
