Extremadura encompasses large natural parks suitable for adventure sports. Extremavela emphasizes all those activities that fill your leisure time enjoying the outdoors.

The north of this Autonomous Community is one of the few wild corners that remain in an excellent state of conservation on the European continent. These are large lands characterized by their breadth and the silence reigning in their uninhabited places. You will not find an equal destination for adventure.

Extremavela offers you options for all tastes:

- Windsurfing: being away from the sea should not be a problem for sailing. We teach you to get on the board in the reservoirs in the area.

- Canoa: we will descend the rivers becoming witnesses of the fauna and the flora.

- Bicycle: walk and exercise while entering forests and trails.

We develop activities in small groups to reach hidden corners full of history and natural value. We move in the regions of the Hurdes, in contact with Portugal, the Sierra de Gata and the Alagón Valley.

Extremavela Canoas has planned river walks along some of the most beautiful rivers, reservoirs and swamps in Extremadura. The popularity of this activity has grown progressively to the point of becoming a known event throughout the Community.

It is the case of the descent of the Valle del Alagón that takes place along 8 kilometers of route, starting at the New Bridge and finishing at the Merendero de Casillas, both in the town of Coria. You will learn to row and maintain balance in the course of the walk, while integrating with nature.

The canoes in which you will take part in these excursions have capacity for two or three people so that you get used to the importance of cooperation in sport. The expedition is led by an instructor in charge of your safety and who will also provide all the information about the ecosystem you will visit.

You will spend three to four hours in these self-emptying boats, instructing you in respect for the natural environment. On your way there will be rapids that will surprise you and force a change of pace in the march. There are several stops to rest under the shade of the trees and recharge energy with typical foods of the area.

It is already possible to practice sailing in Extremadura. Extremavela Windsurf has created a school that aims to become a reference in the region. Its methods revolve around the simplicity of the lessons and maximum customization, without losing sight of the fun at any time.

You will navigate in the reservoir of the Borbollón river, with the advantage of the additional security of not being in the open sea. The possibility of a student drifting does not exist. They have also worried that motivation is always present, so the courses are adapted by levels, from beginner to experts. This is the only way to avoid the frustration of feeling the last of the class.

A maximum of ten students per lesson is admitted and you must be provided with:

- Wetsuit

-Escarpines

-Security harness

You can enroll in courses one afternoon a week, if you are a resident, or lessons of a couple of days if you are passing through. You will attend to expert instructors whose goal is that in a short time you will browse for yourself.

If the wind fails you won't have to go home. The monitors will have foreseen this circumstance and will invite you to carry out activities to know the place.

Join any of the Extremavela Mountain Bike bike routes . You will visit the most beautiful regions of the region with their guides. You will walk through pastures where archaeological remains remain, Sierra Ladroñera, Santibáñez el Alo, the Dehesa de Montehermoso or visit the Canchos del Ramiro.

This activity is suitable for the whole family and allows you to enjoy nature from another point of view.
Extremavela Mountain Bike excursions include:

- The interpretation during the journey of the Mediterranean forest and the Extremaduran pasture.

- Material to observe the ornithological richness of the area: owls, eagles, bustards or vultures, many of them protected species difficult to find elsewhere.

- Explanations about the aspects of the region: society, history, geology, fauna and flora.

- Details to learn to respect the environment and leave no trace of our step.

- Texts with basic information to understand the environment.

Don't forget comfortable pedaling clothes and specific footwear. You should wear a raincoat and a cap to protect yourself from the weather.
