Bodegas Fernando de Castilla receives its name in honor of King Fernando of Castilla "El Santo" who conquered a good part of Andalusia in the 13th century and who discovered the exceptional qualities of the soil and climate to produce wines of exceptional quality.
The history of the winery begins with the Andrada-Vanderwilde family, who has a long tradition in the area and who two centuries ago already produced grapes and wines for the production of Sherry wines.
In 1972, Mr. Fernando Andrada-Vanderwilde created the Fernando de Castilla brand with the aim of producing the most select brandy in Spain.
Later he added an exceptional Pedro Ximenez and a Sherry Vinegar considered by many the best in Spain.
Bodegas Fernando de Castillareceives visits arranged in advance. The visit lasts one hour where the process of making high-quality sherry wines, brandies and sherry vinegar is explained. Next, a tasting of several of the company's products is offered in a room where a sample of old machinery for wine production is also on display. There is the possibility of buying wines, vinegars and brandies.
For groups of more than 20 people, lunches, dinners or various events can be organized in the winery.
If you have any questions, contact Bodegas Fernando de Castilla, and they will answer your questions and advise you on everything related to visiting the wineries or purchasing their products.
