At El Pico Surf School we use the Cantabrian town of Santillana del Mar as a base to serve both newcomers to surfing, and those who come looking for the best waves each season. From here you can count on our services daily from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. every afternoon.

We usually go to 3 of the best coastal areas for maritime conditions for our students. These are La Concha Beach, which is located in Suances, Luaña Beach for which we will travel in a few minutes to Cóbreces, and Los Locos, also in Suances.

For each surf lesson we have planned a duration of 2 and a half hours. We always lend the material and the wetsuit to the students who will be attended by federated monitors with the broadest degrees in the sector. For this reason, they can initiate you in the most efficient way but also teach you the most complex tricks if you have been traveling companions for years and have been the board.

To make your learning more comfortable, we recommend our surfcamps that allow you not to have to look for accommodation outside of school. You will stay with us in our new Hostel in Santillana del Mar. It has rooms with private bathrooms and rooms with shared bathroom. If you choose the surfcamp package you will benefit from a great discount rate. The Hostel is also available if you just want to stay.

Between Suances and Santillana del Mar you have to choose your next destination as a present or future surfer, if what you are looking for are classes. At El Pico Surf School you have the professional option you are looking for with the exclusivity that allows work with small groups in which each student is seen as a unique person with their own needs.

We are trained to address all levels because our technicians have the highest recognized qualifications . That is why we can teach you from scratch or make you evolve with lessons of 2 hours and a half with a clear organization that helps the student to establish an efficient routine. So we go through the theoretical part first and warm up before entering the water. Our passage through the sea is recorded to later correct the deficiencies that we show. Tell us at what level of these you are and we will start:

- Initiation : with which you will go from absolute ignorance to having some autonomy. You will catch waves without being assisted, you will stand up properly and you will have knowledge about the environment.

- Intermediate : you will know even more about the environment made up of the sea and the waves to be able to take advantage of each circumstance. We will improve all technical aspects.

- Advanced : here we will look for those turns and speed changes of surfers who have the most extensive knowledge in practice.

The surfcamps of the El Pico Surf School aim to offer you a complete experience in surfing. This type of complex allows you to be housed in an environment in which we all have the same interests living in relation to the waves from the moment we get up.

We will be inside the Camping de Santillana del Mar where we will have the opportunity to visit one of the most outstanding medieval villages in this region. This allows us to reach the main beaches where we surf in a few minutes using the car. We do not have a fixed one, but we will decide on the most suitable one every day.

In general, we will sleep in bungalows for a maximum of 5 people that are distributed in two rooms. They are equipped with bunk beds, have a full bathroom, a common dining room and a terrace with a porch. Breakfasts are always included in your package and we take care of taking you, with the material, to the place of the surf lessons until we fill the 7 places of our transport.

When we have finished the lessons at sea, we will lend you the material, whenever it is available, so that you can continue practicing without a monitor.
