Description of Entrance to the Thyssen Museum: Permanent Collection

From Gothic paintings to pop art, at the Thyssen-Bornemisza National Museum you can find all types of art in more than 1,000 works. Ready to immerse yourself in our art gallery?

The one known asPaseo del Arte de Madrid is made up of three must-visit gems: the Prado, the Reina Sofía and the Thyssen. The three vertices of this triangle of art house works of art dating from the Middle Ages to the present day.

Today we want you to visit one of its vertices, the most recent and the one that houses the extensive collection of the Barons Thyssen, after whom it receives its name.

With this ticket you will have access to the permanent collection of the museum, as well as the Carmen Thyssen Collection. You choose the date of the visit, since you will have one year from the purchase of the ticket to be able to use it.

Located on the Paseo del Prado, specifically in the Villahermosa Palace, the Thyssen-Bornemisza houses works by renowned artists such as the impressionists Monet, Degas, Van Gogh or Gauguin; the Americans Georgia O'Keeffe and Edward Hopper; the abstract art of Kandinsky or Pollock.

But not only them, you will also find works by artists such as Goya, Picasso, Renoir, Cézanne, Titian, Caravaggio, Rubens, Van Eyck, Rembrandt... and many more!

A journey through art without leaving the museum, I assure you that you can spend hours contemplating the art hanging on the walls, losing even the notion of time. There is no doubt that the Thyssen-Bornemisza is one of those museums that are worth visiting at least once, and more than once!
