Don't miss visits to the Thyssen-Bornemisza National Museum, which together with the Prado Museum and the Reina Sofía Museum form the so-called "Art Triangle on the Paseo del Prado", the most important art gallery area in Spain.
Founded in 1992, the Thyssen houses works by national and international artists, thus allowing its permanent collection to take you from the Middle Ages to the end of the 20th century with the entire history of European painting hidden in his canvases.
Here you can find works by Flemish artists such as Jan van Eyck; an extensive impressionist repertoire with works by Monet, Degas, Van Gogh and Gauguin; painting by great Americans like Georgia O'Keeffe and Edward Hopper; German expressionism with Kirchner, Grosz or Beckmann; the abstract painting of Kandinsky or Pollock; and figuration between the 1930s and 1980s such as Marc Chagall or Balthus.
Madrid is full of art and it would be a tremendous mistake to visit the city without visiting its most notable museums. In addition, once inside you can visit theCarmen Thyssen Collection, one of the museum's strong points that has works from Canaletto to Kandinsky.
Come to the Villahermosa Palace and see first-hand one of the most important art collections in the country.
