First we will find the peak of the Bola del Mundo, which is 2258 meters high. Up to this point we will have traveled about 3 and a half kilometers and we will soon see the Cumbre de la Maliciosa. This summit has an altitude of 2280 meters.
When we enjoy the surroundings and the views enough, we have to descend towards the Valdemartín Hill, to later face the Cabeza de Hierro Menor, with 2374 meters high, and during this walk we will have an impressive panoramic view of Peñalara. Upon reaching this summit we will be amazed by the landscapes, which enjoy an absolute and enveloping silence.
Once we have passed Cabeza de Hierro Menor we will head to the highest mountain on the entire Cuerda Larga hiking route. This is the older brother of the previous peak, Iron HeadMayor, and which has 2381 meters of altitude and which, in turn, also happens to be the highest in the Sierra de Guadarrama. Around this beautiful corner we can rest and the ideal place for this is the Peña de Vaqueros.
With our batteries well replenished, we head to the fifth mountain that we will visit with the Long Rope hiking route, the Loma del Pandasco, with 2247 meters u>. From here we will continue walking towards the Collado de las Zorras which will eventually lead us to the Alto de Navahondilla, the sixth summit that we will visit in Cuerda Larga, and all this delighting us with the Peñalara Massif as a background.
After visiting this peak we will go to the seventh mountain, Asomate de Hoyos. Here we will have accumulated about 13.2 kilometers and we will be able to properly admire the Pedriza, where we will also be able to stop to rest a little more so that fatigue does not get in the way of our hiking route.
As we finish, we will have two last stops in sight. Firstly, Bailanderos, with 2133 meters of altitude and finally La Najarra, with 2120 meters of altitude and where we will arrive by crossing the cliffs that separate the hill of the same name from the summit itself. To finish we will descend through a valley towards the Puerto de la Morcuera and that is when we will end the Cuerda Larga hiking route.
