Gliding in Barcelona

Igualada-Ódena Club is currently formed by a total of 120 members. Its team makes it possible to carry out flying activities with non-powered aircrafts every weekend and holidays. The tasks that must be carried out are divided into every member of the team. During the activities, all participants will be assisted by the best professionals. We have two different options to offer: Initiation flights: These flights are aimed at those people who come to do a pre-test for the glider pilot course. It includes a package of 10 initiation flights, to be taken within 3 months. For minors from 16 to 18, a parental authorization is necessary. Course for glider pilot certificate: The parts that are taught during this course are the behaviour of the glide in the air, the effect of the controls on it, the importance of the speed and the effect of the airbrakes. The lessons are 30 minutes long. The pilot is initiated on the towing and landing processes as well as. During the lesson, you'll be explained how to take advantage of the descent in a thermal. Aeroclub Barcelona-Sabadell is an enterprise offering you the possibility to practice one of the most dangerous air sports! Don't miss the opportunity to feel all your adrenaline pumping! Absolutely amazing! Before the activity starts, one of our well-experienced instructors will give you a previous briefing to acquire all the necessary contents for the flight. Moreover, we count on a glider course for beginners. It will be divided into three different parts. On the first one, you will have the opportunity to learn how these aircrafts work, how to use their control panel, and what is the effect of the speeding and the brakes' effect. On the second part, you will learn amazing techniques as landing and tow, apart from the rising by following the thermals. The last part will be dedicated to putting all these contents into practice: you will start in flight activities through the hillside! Each one will have a total length of half an hour. The date and hour will be always specified due to the weather conditions.
