Sopuerta Abentura

To get to Sopuerta you can use either a private vehicle or public transport (Bizkaibus bus line). If we access from Bilbao via the A8, we have 2 possibilities: one is to continue towards Santander and come through Muskiz (the fastest option in normal conditions) and the other is through the Cadagua Corridor, which takes about 5 or 10 minutes longer. If you want to come through Muskiz, you have to take the Gallarta exit after passing the Ugaldebieta gas stations, after taking the exit, instead of entering Gallarta you have to continue towards Las Carreras, Muskiz. We pass Las Carreras long and on the right is Petronor, we continue a little and reach Muskiz. Arrival from Muskiz. When you reach Muskiz (Somorrostro), at the intersection regulated by traffic lights in the center of town, you must take the road to the left, towards Sopuerta, Balmaseda. Upon reaching Sopuerta, about 6.2 km. From approximately Muskiz, we will pass under a wooden bridge, and 1.2 km after passing the bridge, we must take the first detour to the right that indicates Castro Urdiales, Puerto de Las Muñecas and we will enter the town. 800 m later, at the crossroads in the center of the town signposted Sopuerta Abentura – Colegio San Viator, we will turn to the right. Just 300 meters further on we will take another detour to the right that indicates Sopuerta Abentura - Colegio San Viator and as we arrive at the school, we continue the road surrounding the school and arrive straight at Sopuerta Abentura. If you want to come through the Cadagua Corridor, you must take the detour towards Zalla or Balmaseda near Basurto. Continue along the Corridor until you reach Zalla, and at the Eroski roundabout we continue to the left crossing the town and in the center you have to take a detour to the right that reaches Otxaran, once here there is a signposted detour that marks Sopuerta on the right. We continue climbing the Avellaneda hill and enter Sopuerta. Once we arrive at Sopuerta in the direction of Muskiz and after passing the gas station (200 meters) we will take the detour to the left towards Castro Urdiales. One kilometer further on, after passing through the center of the town, we will reach a curve to the left and take the detour to the right that indicates Sopuerta Abentura – Colegio San Viator and as we arrive at the school, we continue the road surrounding the school and arrive at in front of Sopuerta Abentura. Arrival from Balmaseda or Artzentales. Once we arrive at Sopuerta in the direction of Muskiz and after passing the gas station (200 meters) we will take the detour to the left towards Castro Urdiales. One kilometer further on, after passing through the center of the town, we will reach a curve to the left and take the detour to the right that indicates Sopuerta Abentura – Colegio San Viator and as we arrive at the school, we continue the road surrounding the school and arrive at in front of Sopuerta Abentura. Arrival from Castro Urdiales If we come from Castro Urdiales, we have the possibility of going along the A-8 to Muskiz and from there taking the road to Sopuerta, or coming through the port of Las Muñecas, to do so, we will head towards Otañes, and Once we have passed Santullan and Otañes, after passing the port of Las Muñecas, we enter Sopuerta. At the entrance to the town, there is a straight road of about 600 meters, then a curve to the left and in the first curve to the right we will take the detour to the left towards Sopuerta Abentura and the San Viator school. Once at the school, we will continue the road surrounding the school and arrive straight at Sopuerta Abentura.
