Bodegas Orusco discover the wines of the Community of Madrid through a visit to its wineries in Valdelicha.
Valdelicha is a town in a valley. Its geographical disposition is prone to the vineyard harvest and brings a special touch to the resulting wines. Given the distance it maintains with the capital, the climate it enjoys makes the maintenance of crops ideal, producing one of the best wines in the region for more than 500 years.
The history of Bodegas Orusco dates back to 1896 and has evolved to run as one of the largest producers in the Community of Madrid with more than 1.5 million liters per year. Its success lies in the mixture of the traditional and the innovative, keeping the familiar aspect next to the most modern production techniques.
The wine of the Community of Madrid is a guarantee of quality and the Denomination of Origin certifies it. The particular characteristics of Madrid wine are given by the singularities of the land in which the plantation is established, something that distinguishes it radically from any other Spanish wine. Thanks to the fact that the raw material is of first quality and the disposition of D.O., the wineries of the Community managed to expand both throughout the Spanish geography and at the international level.
Bodegas Orusco began exporting wine in 1990 and 20 years later it has managed to conquer several countries of Europe such as Belgium, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands, among others. In addition, they have managed to position themselves in the South American market thanks to the incursion into Colombia and Bolivia.
