Tips if you are going to do Ballooning in Madrid
If you have been thinking about ballooning in Madrid for a long time but have some doubts about the activity, don’t worry, because we will help you with everything you need to know before making the decision of flying or giving away a balloon ride.
If you live or are staying in Madrid, you are in luck because you will have the possibility of ballooning every weekend. The balloon ride is an activity that takes place all year round, as long as the weather conditions allow it. To be able to secure a ride and a complete duration, the pilots will check the speed of the wind currents and thermal pressures, and only when they are on their optimal to fly, is when the activity is carried out.
We leave you an explanatory video, so you can watch what is waiting for you:
To carry out the balloon ride, the activity needs to be done at first hour of the morning, with the sunrise (there are certain places like the Balearic Islands where can be also done during the afternoon). Depending on the season of the year, we will meet at 7 AM (Summer) and at 8 AM (Winter). The meeting point in Madrid to start the ballooning session, usually, is between Villanueva del Pardillo and Brunete, where the airfield is.
Once the whole group is at the meeting point, the activity starts, everyone contributes to the balloon inflation, everyone will be an active participant. Once the balloon is full, we will get on the basket, and start to ascent 300 meters in height, and start watching the landscapes of the near locations with the Sierra de Guadarrama as the background.
If you suffer from vertigo, and this makes you have doubts, don’t worry because once you are up in the skies, you won’t feel the verticality, so you can enjoy the views without getting worried. Also, this activity is suitable for all public since the flight is a really smooth one, and you’ll feel like floating more than flying.
During the whole session, our all-terrain vehicle will follow the route as a backup vehicle. Once we reach the final point of the trip, we will descend, make a toast with champagne, enjoy a great rural lunch and talk about the ride, share opinions and sensations with the rest of passengers.
The activity is completed with an accrediting diploma and a photo report and an HD video, so you can remember this special day forever.
The most common way to go ballooning is a shared experience, the baskets have a capacity for 8 to 10 people, and we fly every weekend and on holidays. But, on the contrary, you want to fly midweek or privately, there exist exclusive balloon rides. As we said before, is an activity suitable for everyone, so kids with 7 or 8 years of age and have a height of 120 cm, can enjoy the activity, and with a special voucher with kids up to 12.
In addition to all these regular flights in the Sierra of Guadarrama, there exist other flights through El Escorial or Aranjuez if you want to explore these beautiful Madrid’s cities.
And if you are visiting Madrid, but want to meet near regions, you can enjoy a balloon ride in Segovia, where you can also do it during the weekends and holidays.
And if you want to complete the activity, and be near the take-off point to avoid to be an early riser, you have the option that includes accommodation, and pass a great full weekend. Will join us?
