Areva Valsaín organizes your nature excursion along the paths on dirt or snow and through the waters of the rivers and reservoirs of Segovia and Madrid among places of great beauty and environmental quality very close to large urban centers. These excursions are suitable for groups of all kinds and conditions, adults and school-age children have to know the natural treasures that are so close.

The activities we do are:

• Hiking: In the forests of Valsaín, the course of the Manzanares, ascents to peaks, etc.
• Rock climbing: In points like Patones or La Pedriza in Madrid.
• Climbing wall: In our hostel you can practice very comfortably.
• Canoes: Pleasant walks through calm waters in reservoirs in Madrid and La Granja de San Ildefonso and in rivers.
• Kayaks: Two-seater boats to enjoy tours and courses as a couple through the Duratón and in reservoirs, even in the pool.
• Cross-country skiing: Treks in search of the peaks of Madrid and Segovia or relaxing walks through forests in Valsaín.
• Snowshoe routes: Easy progression through the snow with these gadgets that, placed on our feet, provide us with simple walks.
• Caving: We visited the Enebralejos cave near Prádena in Segovia.

We also carry out activities for schoolchildren and we specialize in activities for the disabled.

We have a mountain lodge for 34 people with bed and breakfast for groups of 8 people or more.

Areva Valsaín offers youhiking routes throughout the Sierra Norte of Madrid and Segovia. Each route will be adapted to the physical abilities and desires of the participants in the activity so that you can fully enjoy a day of hiking in the high mountains near Madrid and Segovia.

Our guides with years of experience in the matter, after getting to know you a little better, will inform you which hiking route best suits your characteristics. From quiet walks following the course of the Manzanares to ascensions to the best-known peaks of the Sierra de Guadarrama.

Hiking is an adventure leisure activity recommended for groups of friends who like nature and exercising in contact with wildlife.

In Areva Valsaín in addition to being able to organize climbing routes for experienced people, we have a climbing wall for those who want to start climbing or for children.

Our climbing wall is located in our hostel, it has 8 routes and a height of between 7 and 9 meters. We can adapt the climbing wall to various levels of difficulty and ages.

If, on the other hand, you have been practicing climbing for some time and what you want is to enjoy nature and beautiful natural environments, we organize routes for you:

• Segovia and Madrid
• La Pedriza
• Peñalara
• Patons

As a fact to keep in mind, we are Instructors of the Leonese High Mountain Castilian School.

Areva Valsaín recommends descending rivers in Canadian canoes as it is a quiet and very relaxing activity that, being in direct contact with nature, is ideal for forgetting about the daily routine in the city and work. We have peaceful and simple routes through the calm waters of the Pontón Alto reservoir framed in the beautiful setting of the Real Sitio de San Ildefonso. Also by the Hoces of the Duratón River near Sepúlveda.

Rafting in canoes is ideal for groups of friends and family. School groups usually have a great time with the canoes. We have specialized monitors who will be in charge of security at all times and guiding the group through the route.

All our routes are carried out in rivers with very calm waters, such as the Duratón River, which as it passes through Las Hoces, with its deep canyons, is impressive to see.

A special activity that we do is can-orientation, an orientation test through the reservoir and with very fun water games.

Furthermore, the canoes owned by Areva Valsaín can accommodate up to three people, so the time is spent in a group and is used to comment and discuss the live experience.

Areva Valsaín organizes snow routes with snowshoes through beautiful places halfway to Madrid and Segovia such as the Valsaín forests among fantastic pine forests and ascensions to the best-known and most popular peaks of the Sierra de Guadarrama such as Peñalara or the Siete Picos.

The activity is similar to hiking, only in the snow. For a secure grip and to be able to walk on virgin snow, it is necessary to use snowshoes to maintain balance and an adequate rhythm.

Areva Valsaín rents you the necessary equipment to carry out the route with snowshoes. Our guides will show you the route and explain the rules and tricks to complete the route correctly and at a good pace.

Snowshoe routes are especially attractive for school groups. Children have a great time with this activity while they learn since it takes place in the middle of nature. We combine this activity with Nordic skiing for large school groups.

With the help of Areva Valsaín you will travel to the very bowels of the earth with our caving routes through the Enebralejos cave near Prádena in Segovia. We suggest a tour of its galleries and passageways so you can see what is hidden under the mountain.

Caving is an exciting sport that combines the excitement of exploration and the discovery of nature in an unusual environment for us such as caves. The caves generate years and years of water erosion, and studying them is very attractive.

Areva Valsaín takes great care of the surroundings, so the groups will be small and suitable for all audiences. It is a recommended activity for friends, family and especially schools.

Our guides know the routes and have accumulated years of experience in caving, they will explain in detail the different geological formations that we will see and the history of the cave related to its use by the ancient settlers of these lands.< /p>

When the heat arrives, enjoy our kayaks through the Segovian mountains among beautiful valleys of pine and fir trees. They are manageable and safe and unsinkable and comfortable. With the help of the instructors from Areva Valsaín you will immediately learn to shovel to enjoy the freedom of the landscape of thePonto Alto reservoirs in Granja de San Ildefonso and Valsaín.

With kayaks you will enjoy the pleasure of sailing in calm waters in natural high mountain environments very close to Segovia and Madrid. Even if you have never tried kayaking, it doesn't matter at all, since the lakes where we will go are ideal to start.

It is an activity that Areva Valsaín recommends for groups of friends, families and as a school activity it is fantastic.

In addition, Areva Valsaín has an exclusive service, if you want we can take our kayaks to your pool to hold games and competitions, very suitable for patron saint festivities.

Areva Valsaín organizes cross-country or Nordic skiing courses (not alpine or track), with groups from 8 people . The Sierra de Guadarrama is a perfect place to practice Nordic or cross-country skiing. From the hand of our guides we have wild routes in:

• Puerto de Cotos
• Navacerrada
• Valsaín

Areva Valsaín also offers you the possibility of renting the necessary equipment. (We have boot sizes from 34 to 47).

And as a highlight, we also guide mountain ski routes. For the experienced and more daring (we do not have material).

We can make ascents doing cross-country skiing to the top of the Bola del Mundo, the Seven Peaks, Peñalara, etc. Also gentler routes without much unevenness through the Valsaín pine forests between Navacerrada and La Granja de San Ildefonso.
